Introduction
Silicone oil is a polysiloxane with chain structure of different polymerization degree. It is prepared by hydrolysis of dimethyldichlorosilane with water to obtain the primary polycondensation ring body, and the ring body is cracked and distilled to obtain the Chemicalbook low ring body. Then, the ring body, capping agent and catalyst are put together to obtain a mixture of various polymerization degrees. Silicone oil can be obtained by removing low-boiling substances through vacuum distillation.
Properties
Silicone oil is generally a colorless or light yellow, odorless, non-toxic, non-volatile liquid. Silicone oil is insoluble in water and is highly compatible with many components in cosmetics, reducing the stickiness of the product. It is used as a co-solvent and solid powder dispersant for refreshing creams, lotions, facial cleansers, lotions, makeup, and perfumes. Silicone oil has excellent heat resistance, oxidation resistance, and low temperature resistance, and can be used for a long time within the temperature range of -50Chemicalbook℃-+180℃; it has strong shear resistance and a compressibility that is more than 20 times that of general mineral oil, making it an ideal liquid spring; it has a low temperature viscosity coefficient, low vapor pressure, low surface tension, good water-adding properties and lubricity; it has excellent electrical properties, high breakdown voltage resistance, arc resistance, corona resistance, and low dielectric loss; it also has the advantages of good light transmittance and no toxicity to the human body.
Classification
Silicone oil can be divided into methyl silicone oil, ethyl silicone oil, phenyl silicone oil, methyl hydrogen silicone oil, methyl phenyl silicone oil, methyl chlorophenyl silicone oil, methyl ethoxy silicone oil, methyl trifluoropropyl silicone oil, methyl ethyl silicone oil, methyl hydroxy silicone oil, ethyl hydrogen silicone oil, hydroxy hydrogen silicone oil, cyanide silicone oil, etc. according to chemical structure; according to usage, there are damping silicone oil, diffusion pump silicone oil, hydraulic oil, insulating oil, heat transfer oil, brake oil, etc.
Uses:
Silicone oil is used as a defoamer in food, cosmetics, papermaking, water treatment, detergents, sugar making, fermentation, coatings, textile printing and dyeing, drilling and oil refining, hydraulic oil and advanced lubricating oil, release agent, etc.; used as raw material for silicone resin and silicone rubber; raw material for adhesives; additive for flame retardant plastics; raw material for insulating materials; also used as a wetting agent, leather finishing agent, etc.
