Introduction
Polyaluminium chloride is an inorganic polymer coagulant with the molecular formula [Al2(OH)nCl6-n·xH2O]m (m≤10, n=1~5). It is an inorganic polymer compound and a hydrolysis product between aluminium chloride and aluminium hydroxide. Due to the bridging effect of hydroxide ions and the polymerization of multivalent anions, an inorganic polymer water treatment agent with a large molecular weight and a high charge is generated. Polyaluminium chloride is an inorganic polymer coagulant, also known as polyaluminium, abbreviated as PAC in English. It is an inorganic polymer water treatment agent with a large molecular weight and a high charge produced due to the bridging effect of hydroxide ions and the polymerization of multivalent anions. In terms of form, it can be divided into solid and liquid. Solids can be divided into brown, yellow and white according to different colors. Polyaluminium chloride of different colors also has great differences in application and production technology.
Product performance
a. Polyaluminium chloride as a water treatment agent has strong adaptability to various water qualities, and is particularly effective in coagulation and precipitation of high turbidity water. b. Uses
This product can remove bacteria, odor, fluorine, aluminum, chromium, oil, turbidity, heavy metal salts, and radioactive pollutants. It has a wide range of uses in the process of purifying various water sources. 1. Purify drinking water and domestic sewage. 2. Purify industrial water, industrial wastewater, mines, oil field injection water, water purification, metallurgy, chemical book coal washing, leather and various chemical wastewater treatment. 3. Industrial production application; paper sizing, printing and dyeing, cement accelerator, precision casting hardener, refractory adhesive, glycerin refining, cloth wrinkle prevention, medicine, and other industries, wastewater can be recycled. 4. In the refining industry, it is used for water separation with excellent results.
Applications
A kind of binder for refractory materials. It is an aluminum hydroxide sol made by physical and chemical treatments such as dissolution, hydrolysis and polymerization of aluminum-containing raw materials or metallic aluminum with hydrochloric acid. Polyaluminium chloride can be regarded as an intermediate product of AlCl3 hydrolyzing into Al(OH)3, so the hydrolyzate is acidic. Polyaluminium chloride is also called hydroxyaluminium chloride (AluminumHydroxychloride) or basic aluminum chloride (BasicAluminumchloride), and its chemical formula is [Al2(OH)nCl6-n]m. If n in the formula is close to or equal to 6, it can be called aluminum sol (Aluminasol). Using polyaluminium chloride as a binder for bulk refractory materials will not reduce the refractoriness. During the heating process, the Al2O3 generated by the dehydration and decomposition of polyaluminium chloride is a highly dispersed active alumina chemical book, which helps sintering, so it is suitable as a binder for refractory materials. Polyaluminium chloride can be used as a binder for unfired or fired refractory products, refractory plastics, ramming materials and castables. When used as a binder for amorphous refractory materials, there are certain requirements for basicity and density. If it is too high or too low, the bonding strength is not good. Generally, the basicity is between 46% and 72%, and the density is between 1.17 and 1.23 kg/m3, and the bonding strength is better. When used as a binder for refractory castables, synthetic magnesium aluminum spinel, fused MgO and alumina cement can be used as accelerators. However, when polyaluminum chloride is used as a binder for amorphous refractory materials, because its solution is acidic (pH <5), it will react with the iron and iron-containing compounds contained in the refractory material to release hydrogen and cause the material to swell. Therefore, a trapped material stage is required in the preparation process to prevent the formed products or linings from swelling and cracking.
