Potassium sulfate is a kind of high composition of fast available potassium fertilizer, mainly from sulfate ore anhydrous potassium magnesium alum and potassium chloride as raw materials to prepare, for white or light yellow crystal particles, α- type and β- type two crystal types. α-type is hexagonal colorless crystal, β-type is rhombic crystal colorless crystal. It has a bitter, salty taste. Generally containing potassium sulfate 90% ~ 95%, potassium (K2O)50% ~ 52%, sulfur (S)16%, chlorine (Cl) less than 2.2%; In addition, there are a small amount of sodium (Na), calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg) and bromine (Br), etc. Experiments show that applying 1 kg of potassium sulfate can increase grain crops by 6 ~ 8 kg and sugar beet by 15.5 ~ 22.5 kg. Some crops that avoid chlorine (such as fruits, flax, tobacco, tea, citrus, potatoes, etc.) can not apply potassium chloride, but potassium sulfate can be applied. Applying potassium sulfate in acidic soil needs to add lime appropriately, or mixed with phosphate powder fertilizer, which can improve the utilization rate of phosphorus without increasing the acidity of soil.
