Organic base
Guanine is a kind of organic base, widely existed in animal and plant kingdom. The chemical name is 2-amino-6-oxypurine, colorless square crystal or crystalline powder, in an aqueous solution containing a large excess of ammonia, slowly steam the water to obtain a small diamond crystal, melting point 360 ° C (decomposition and partial sublimation). Soluble in ammonia, caustic soda and dilute mineral acid, slightly soluble in ethanol, ether, insoluble in water, has a strong absorption of ultraviolet light, and is a component of guanosine and guanosine acid. Its hydrochloride is a monohydrous powder crystal, which loses water at 100℃ and hydrogen chloride at 200℃, soluble in acidified water, insoluble in water, ethanol and ether. Guanine can be obtained by hydrolyzing fish scales with hydrochloric acid. It is an important base of nucleic acid, one of the four main bases in DNA and RNA, and is also a component of various guanylate acids. Its N9 is connected to ribose or deoxyribose C1 in a β-glucoside bond to form guanosine or deoxyguanosine. [Main use] : Used in biochemical research and preparation of drugs such as caffeine. The chemical composition is 2-amino-6-ketoylpurine. Together with adenine, they form the two main purine bases in nucleic acids. Guanosine or deoxyguanosine is combined with ribose or deoxyribose via a glycosidic bond, and its triphosphate compounds are guanosine triphosphate or deoxyguanosine triphosphate, respectively, which are precursors of guanine during the biosynthesis of ribonucleic acid and deoxyribonucleic acid.
