Octocrylene is a UV-A and UV-B filter used in sunscreen and topical pharmaceutical preparations.
Applications
Octocrylene (OCTOCRYLENE) is also known as: 2-cyano-3,3-diphenylacrylate, octoquire, and belongs to the cinnamic acid class of UV absorbers. Its maximum absorption wavelength for UV rays is 308nm, and it has a strong absorption capacity for UV rays (UVB) in the range of 280-320nm. Octocrylene has a stabilizing effect on the UVA sunscreen avobenzone (Paso 1789) Chemicalbook. Avobenzone is one of the organic sunscreens with the longest absorption peak wavelength to date. The maximum amount of octocrylene allowed in China, the European Union, Japan, the United States, and South Korea is 10% (calculated by mass fraction). However, in daily sunscreen products, the addition amount is generally 1-3%, and few products are added to 10%.

Octocrylene is an organic compound used in sunscreens and makeup.
Uses:

Octocrylene can be used as  a UV absorber in plastics, coatings, dyes, etc.
