Details

Grubbs catalyst is a kind of coordination compound used in olefin metathesis reaction. The ligands in GRUBBS catalyst have great influence on the catalytic performance and stability of the catalyst. The second generation of Grubbs catalyst is to replace the tricyclohexylphosphine ligand in the first generation catalyst with a di-substituted dihydroimidazole ligand. Compared with the first generation catalyst, it has stronger stability and higher reactivity. The design concept of Grubbs II catalysts is to replace one of the phosphorus ligands with an N-heterocyclic carbene ligand, which has stronger electron-giving ability and higher stability than the phosphorus ligand.
