Methyl triphenyl phosphine bromide is a solid phosphonium salt flame retardant. Apply
Methyl triphenyl phosphine bromide can be used as a Wittich reagent for the preparation of alkenes and to increase the carbon number of unsaturated carbon chains. The Ylide precursor of Wittig reaction is widely used in the synthesis of unsaturated bonds in liquid crystal materials. It is also widely used in organic synthesis. It is a good cationic phase conversion catalyst.
preparation
Triphenylphosphine (0.0035mol), ammonium bromide (0.00355mol) and trimethyl orthoformate (1.5ml) were successively added into the two-neck flask, and the stirring agent was added. Reflux was heated at 110℃ for 12 hours. After the reaction is complete, it is cooled to room temperature, vaporized under reduced pressure to remove the solvent, and recrystallized with methylene chloride, ethyl acetate, and petroleum ether. The obtained solid was washed with ethyl acetate and petroleum ether, and the white solid obtained after extraction and filtration was moved to a vacuum oven at 60℃ overnight to dry, and the solid quaternary phosphonium salt flame retardant methyl triphenyl phosphine bromide was obtained.

Using Wittig reaction, it is widely used in methylene reaction. Wittig enylation salt, through closed loop metathesis, for the synthesis of an enyne application that can provide a benzodiazine heterocycle system. Wittig enylation salt, recently used in the synthesis of enyne, produces a benzodiazine ring system through a cyclic metathesis reaction. It is widely used in methylenation through Wittig reactions.
Production method
Dissolve 55g of triphenylphosphine in 45ml of dry benzene, cool, then add 28g of pre-cooled bromomethane, seal and place at room temperature for 2d. Then 500ml of hot benzene was mixed with the reaction mixture, the white solid was filtered and dried, and 70g methyltriphenylphosphine bromide was obtained. The yield is 99%.
