In vitro experiments, lapatinib significantly inhibited the growth of Her-2 overexpressed breast cancer cell lines. In the Phase I clinical trial of advanced breast cancer with Her-2 overexpression, lapatinib also had a high response rate and no cross-resistance with Herceptin (trastuzumab). Because of its small molecule structure, unlike Herceptin (trastuzumab), it can penetrate the blood-brain barrier and has a certain therapeutic effect on brain metastasis of breast cancer.
